Optical fibre draw tower for economic high speed production

The production of telecom fibre is a highly competitive area and the economics of the draw process are under constant scrutiny with the smallest of engineering changes often showing significant benefit.  SG Controls Ltd, maintains a large proportion of the draw tower engineering as an "in house" process and as such is able to react quickly to market requirements and implement design changes very quickly

The High Speed Draw Tower from SG Controls is perhaps the most advanced optical fibre production platform available from an independent equipment supplier.

High Speed:  Has been 2500m/min for some years now and is well proven in a number of production facilities.

High Capacity:  The SGC tower is running processes using all of the larger ppreform sizes being produced by the "glass" manufacturers in standard preform or RIC/RIT formats.

5m preform strokes and longer

Full capacity pick and place handling of 300kg preforms

High speed dual drum winders

Minimum maintenance coating systems

Engineers and design teams in SG Controls and throughout the Newton Technology Group are always on hand to advise and offer support for any bespoke engineering project. 

 

Technology Transfer

Independent process experts are often the best people to introduce staff to new technology particularly where existing production schedules cannot be compromised.  SG Controls are process experts and can deliver training and technical transitions either at your site or in the Newton Development Labs.  With a full suite of Optical Fibre manufacturing equipment we can train new staff and re train the more experienced in new techniques with disturbing your current process.

For large manufacturing installation projects a full package of technology transfer can be configured to meet the demands of full factory start up.
